For files exceeding the 5GB FTP upload/download limit, we recommend utilizing SSH for transfer. Follow these steps to enable SSH access and use WinSCP for seamless file transfers without size restrictions:
Enable SSH Access:
- Ensure SSH access is enabled for your hosting package. Refer to your hosting provider's documentation or control panel to configure SSH settings if not already set up.
Download and Install WinSCP:
- Download WinSCP from the official website and install it on your computer.
Configure WinSCP for SSH File Transfer:
- Open WinSCP.
- Create a new session by entering the following details:
- File Protocol: SFTP (SSH File Transfer Protocol)
- Host Name: Enter your server's hostname or IP address.
- Port Number: Typically 22 for SFTP.
- User Name: Your SSH username.
- Password: Your SSH password.
- Click Save to store the session settings for future use.
Transfer Files:
- Once connected, you can easily drag and drop files between your local machine and the server using WinSCP’s user-friendly interface.
By using SSH and WinSCP, you can efficiently handle large file transfers with no size limitations. If you encounter any issues or need further assistance, please refer to the WinSCP documentation or contact your hosting provider.
